Arizona, You Are Here... those are all the words on this
tshirt, where the design says the rest... an arrow pointing high up on the
thermometer. As they say, the humidity may be low, but the numbers with an
"F" or a "C" after them are right up there. Sure, everybody knows it's hot
in Arizona, but no one has ever said it quite like this. This t shirt is a
great way for those of you from Arizona to show everyone you can take the heat
(some people think, what, 88 is hot? ha!) -- or, it's great if you've visited
Arizona or you're a former Arizonan and you're looking for a distinctive memento
and conversation starter (Oh, I'm from Scottsdale... North Scottsdale... where
are you from? Wickenburg? Oh... that's nice... bye) -- anyway,
there's hot, and there's ARIZONA hot, and if you're the latter, this is the tee
for you.
According to Chris:
I've spent a lot of time in Arizona and I absolutely LOVE IT.
Over the last 10 years, I've grown to love the desert, but as those in the know,
know, AZ is much more than saguaros and sand. I first visited AZ & The
Grand Canyon with Mom & Dad on our first cross-country road trip when I was 6.
We actually did not have A/C in our Ford LTD II, believe it or not. It was
reeeeel fun being in the backseat, sticking to the leather seats. Anyway,
we passed through Phoenix, which all I remember of was a Denny's, and then went
to the Grand Canyon. (PS, for a look at 70s Phoenix,

I actually then LIVED in Arizona for about 9 months on a
consulting work assignment after graduating college. I lived in the "Autumn
Ridge" apartment complex near Eliot Road and I-10. Honestly, we just
worked our butts off on that project, so I didn't get to really indulge in the
full AZ experience. What I do remember, going straight from Florida to
Arizona, was the radical shift in humidity. For 9 months, I got a shock
with EVERY TIME I touched ANYTHING. I do remember though a few weekends
4-wheeling out in the desert, going to "Rawhide", going to "Anderson's Fifth
Estate" and the Sports Bar at the Pointe South Mountain, eating lunch at the
Happy Bowl (anyone remember this place?!), and shopping at the Fiesta Mall.
Anyway, over the last 8 years, I've had the pleasure of going
back to Arizona a bunch of times, mostly for fun. I've been back to the
Grand Canyon, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Hiking in
Aravaipa
Canyon (awesome place but be careful!), Hiking in
Chiricahua National Monument,
Tonto Bridge State Park, I've been to
Tombstone (in
my top 5 movies of all time btw), spent the night in a Super 8 in Willcox and a
Best Western in Payson, went to a bunch of Cubs Spring Training Games, ate at
Matt's Big Breakfast (awesome
place!!), and made it 80% of the way up Camelback Mountain (for more on that,
see "SCOTTSDALE, SHIRT AND SHOES REQUIRED") -- and I have even gone to a Suns
Game at the OLD "Madhouse on McDowell".
Point being, I love Arizona... heck, I might even move there
someday! And though it has a ton going for it, people will always think of
it for being hot! I love you Arizona.
