404 - "I'll Never Move to Alpharetta" -- This is
the new, new, new version of one of our great-selling tees for Atlanta since
2005, and newly available for Men as well as Women, with a new design and in new
colors. If you are a City Gal or City Guy - if you like it "Inside the
Perimeter" and you're more urban than suburban, if you don't like spending 3
hours a day in traffic, and if you're willing to sacrifice a big green lawn and
a bigger garage for the action and culture that the urban core has to offer -
this is the T-Shirt for you! It also makes a fantastic gift if you have
some friends who have recently -- perhaps for reasons of mating - slash -
reproducing -- found it expedient to head for the 'burbs. Makes a
great gag gift too at the next Tupperware Party, PTA Meeting, or Baby Shower
you'll attend!
According to Chris:
First off, let me come right out and say, I have
never been to Alpharetta. I am sure
it is a perfectly nice place. But alas, it is the suburbs.
Originally, back in 2003, we had great success, and great publicity, with our
famous,
773-FOREVER, I'll Never Move to Naperville Tee. As I said at the time,
Naperville was a place a lot of my friends disappeared to after they got married
and had kids. Of course, Chicago has many suburbs, but Naperville truly seemed
to capture the "Zeitgeist of Suburbia" for me, and the shirt was a hit. I
was also invited out to Naperville as a guest of honor by the Mayor of
Naperville, George Pradel. So, I took a stab, saying, here's another
10-Letter Suburb, seems pretty upscale, a pretty fair distance from the city --
and lo and behold, it was the right suburb to pick on. I'm sure that
Roswell, or Smyrna, or Chamblee are equally bucolic and tranquil, but Alpharetta
- that was the winner here, and it's been a great symbol of urban pride and ATL
City Love for our customers since 2005. And, dear City Council of
Alpharetta, if you want to fly me down to help me change my mind, I accept your
invitation!
