Chicago. Just 45 minutes from Gary.  While the great city of Chicago may have many, many other selling points, this would certainly be near the top of the list.  No longer will destinations in glamorous Northwest Indiana be described by their distance from Chicago.  We are turning the tables.

According to Chris:

I hear a lot of commercials for casinos, car dealerships, the airport, and other places just across the border in Indiana that are supposedly very close and accessible to Chicago.  I think once or twice I have actually breezed unhindered down the Dan Ryan, which at most times, is a parking lot.  But on some glorious days, either by car or by train, I imagine that Gary, or Whiting or Hammond or even Chesterton or Merrillville, may actually be just 45 minutes away.

I also wanted to point out, I love saying the word "Gary" -- if you are a fan of Team America, World Police as I am, it's hard to even say that word without lapsing into your best Spottswoode imitation.  Also, "Gary' is Michael Scott's middle name... Michael Gary Scott.  (The city was actually named after the Chairman of US Steel, Elbert H. Gary) -- and if you want to hear the old song, click here.  There was also an obscure indie film from 1998 called "The Velocity of Gary, Not His Real Name") -- hey, there could be endless fun with Gary, and we think this t-shirt will get you in on it . And you may be thinking, are we serious with this shirt? All I can say is, "Oh I am serious. Look. This is my serious face."
