This is our Idaho T-Shirt -- "I'm Gonna Need to See Some ID"
-- with the outline of the State of Idaho, showing you the ID. For a
number of reasons, the state of Idaho just really lends itself to various forms
of puns and wordplay, and we're throwing our hat into the ring with this one!
If you are a fan of Idaho, if you live in Idaho, if you love potatoes (and who
doesn't?) -- then this is the Idaho Shirt for you!
According to Chris:
On my 2001 Cross-Country Road Trip Part 1, I spent exactly 8
hours or so in Idaho, the only time I've spent there, and was thrilled when I
got to the border and finally could say I was there. I had spent the night
in Missoula, MT, and the next morning, took US 12 West, "The Lolo Trail", over
the mountains and across the state line into Idaho. The drive along the
highway was beaiutful, where Lewis and Clark had first traveled, 196 years
earlier. I continued along thru to Lewiston, ID, across the river from
Clarkston, WA, and then drove north on US95 to Moscow, where I walked around the
empty mid-summer University of Idaho Campus (and bought a t-shirt in the
bookstore) -- before crossing the Washington border into Pullman and visiting
the very-nearby Washington State University. What was funny at the time was, I
am a big coffee drinker, and at the time, there weren't as many Starbucks's
around, especially in small towns and rural areas. I had actually gone the
whole way on my trip from Chicago to Idaho, mostly on small roads, without
seeing a single Starbucks, 12 days or so. But 5 minutes after crossing
into Washington, there it was -- still 315 miles from Seattle, but I knew then I
was almost on the West Coast.
Anyway, though I've only been through the aformentioned part
of Idaho, I've seen pictures and the whole rest of the state looks beautiful.
I'd love to go to Boise, do some Idaho skiing, and visit the southern part of
the state as well as the panhandle. And, I'm a big Napoleon Dynamite fan,
which has to be one of the best movies ever filmed in Idaho -- and I have only a
faint glimmer of hope that this tshirt will ever outsell the Vote For Pedro T
Shirt.
Below, enjoy some of my pictures from my one shining day in
Idaho!!
