Stay Cali is the simple 2-word message on this, one of our
biggest hit tees. The design features a stylized version of the California
State Flag with bear, and the message "Stay Cali" across the bottom of the flag
on the t-shirt. If this needs any further explanation, we have plenty of
other great t-shirts you might be interested in.
According to Chris:
California has a great flag. And, I am a big fan of the
LL Cool J old-school song,
"Goin' Back to Cali" (great video, watch it) -- I may be wrong, but it seems
that since that song came out, was when people started to commonly refer to
California as "Cali" -- it has a nice ring to it, and, we decided over here to
appropriate it into an adjective. "Stay Cali" -- to us -- means staying in
a California frame of mind, and taking your California attitude wherever you go.
(The "Stay Ilinois" tee didn't fly. We tried. There actually are a
few other Stay's that are doable, and you may see them again in the future.)
In the meantime, Stay Cali, yo, and if you're looking for a reeeeal cool tee, we
think this shirt is one of the coolest.
PS #1 - As an alumnus of
Stanford University, I am of course loathe to put anything resembling a
California Golden Bear on a t-shirt. But as my "STLFAN" and "Soxfan" tees
prove, capitalism is a wonderful system for harnessing consumer desires to
motivate partisan narcissists to drop their personal preferences and "give the
people what they want". There is the BA in Economics at work! In any
case, this tee has no formal affliation with any educational institutions that
happen to be located in Berkeley, California. But we think this is a GREAT
t-shirt if you want to represent the state you love in a uniquely stylish way,
from Eureka to Chula Vista (2 places I actually have NOT been... someday!)
PS #2 - I also love the Soundgarden song, "Outshined",
where they say "I'm lookin' Cali-fooornia, and feelin' Minne-soooota".
Great line.
